On October 29, 2025, members of the Harm Reduction and Addiction Treatment Program - SCDI joined the SMART Recovery Regional Facilitator Training, a regional capacity-building event that brings together professionals and advocates committed to expanding evidence-based and stigma-free recovery support across Asia.

The training gathered participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan, all sharing the same vision to promote science-based, self-empowering, and community-supported recovery.

Throughout the program, participants were introduced to the SMART Recovery model, which emphasizes self-awareness, self-management, and mutual support in the recovery journey. More than just a training course, it was a space for connection, learning, and experience sharing among practitioners and organizations working to strengthen recovery-oriented approaches across the region.

By participating in this training, SCDI aims to enhance the professional capacity of our team, share practical experiences from community-based interventions in Vietnam, and contribute to expanding the impact of evidence-based, non-stigmatizing recovery models both nationally and regionally.
