SCDI presents to readers the Children and Youth & Health and Social Security’s outstanding activities in December, 2023

Heartwarming Christmas celebrations

On Christmas Day, children participating in the 'Breaking the Cycle' project came together with SCDI officers and volunteers to enjoy a small, cozy party in celebration of the holiday. The children engaged in playful games, sang together, received guidance from volunteers to write Christmas wishes, and ultimately received gifts prepared by the aunts and uncles at the IFC World Bank office."

New library empowers underprivileged children through books

The small library, sponsored by the Little Ant Group, and comprising approximately 300 diverse books, has transformed the SCDI office into a haven for underprivileged children supported by SCDI. Every weekend, these children flock to the library, which was established with the aim of fostering a communal space where they can not only indulge in the joy of reading but also explore their latent talents. Beyond the realm of books, the children receive guidance from mentors on drawing pictures and practicing breathing techniques to manage their emotions.

Nutritional care and support for patients with tuberculosis

To encourage TB patients and those with latent TB infection to adhere to treatment, SCDI has launched a nutrition support program since October this year. This program provides financial assistance, milk, vitamins, and, health insurance to disadvantaged patients in four provinces: Thai Binh, Nghe An, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak. By alleviating financial burdens and ensuring access to essential nutrients, SCDI hopes to improve treatment adherence and ultimately reduce TB rates.
